Lightened flywheel
Why should I install a lightened flywheel?
A lightened flywheel has advantages over the original single and dual mass flywheels.
The lighter flywheel makes the engine more "rev-happy" and thus ensures better acceleration and it can be shifted earlier.
Another big advantage is that fuel consumption can be reduced by an average of 0.4L /100km, with the same driving style as with the original flywheel. This means that the flywheel pays for itself through the petrol money you always save when refuelling.
Often the lightened flywheel is also cheaper than the original one. So if you have to change the flywheel, it makes sense to change to a lightened flywheel.
If a dual mass flywheel is originally fitted and a lightened flywheel will be fitted, it always makes sense to fit a spring-loaded clutch, as the dual mass flywheel is spring-loaded, whereas the original clutch is not.
Therefore, it is recommended to install a spring-loaded clutch in order to have a comfortable shifting process.

Beeindruckende Kompetenz, wodurch Umbaumaßnahmen an Motor, Bremse, Kupplung und Fahrwerk extrem vereinfacht werden. Mein 1er hat z.B. den Umbausatz auf hydraulische Kupplung, die vestärkten Querlenker und alle Motorhalter von Epytec. Und besonders der neue Getriebehalter mit dem Axiallager begeistert. Macht weiter so.
