The optimal complement to our Y-plate
With the locking plate (V-strut) you can strengthen the strut mount on the wheel arch of your VW Golf MK1 and Scirocco 1. You can also use it to prevent or repair cracks in the area of the front inner wall of the engine compartment.
The plate is welded or spotted on the outside of the engine compartment inner panel for reinforcement. This allows the energy acting on the body to be better distributed.
You also need the locking plate if you have installed a more powerful or larger engine in your vehicle. As a result, the body can withstand significantly higher loads.
We propose the other products recommended by VW for reinforcement. These were already recommended by VW Rennsport at the time:
- below wishbone support / wishbone connecting brace/bar
- reinforcement of the suspension strut mount on the wheel house
- reinforcement plates for axle guide
Advantages:
- simplify the registration for chassis, engine and brake conversion
- significantly better stiffness and stability in the body
- better stability during braking maneuvers
- significantly reduces the camber and track changes
- To prevent cracks in the engine compartment inner wall.
Delivery:
- 2x locking / closing plate (V-bar) to reinforce the suspension in the wheel housing (left and right) of the VW Golf MK1, Scirocco 1 etc.
