Golf MK1 Caddy Scirocco Conversion Kit VR6 R32 Golf MK3 Engine 5-speed Gearbox 02A 02J Drive Shaft Set

Complete conversion kit on models VW Golf MK1, Scirocco and Caddy 1 for conversion to the 02A / 02J 5-speed gearbox, combined with the VR6 engine from the VW Golf Mk 3 engine from the VW Golf MK4 The reinforced gears and motor mounting brackets ensure maximum stability and can withstand the most extreme loads.
Furthermore, the lateral gearbox mounting bracket is included for an easier and time-saving conversion to an 02A and 02J 5-speed gearbox. Our bracket is much more stable than the original and is therefore ideally suited for the conversion.
In addition, reinforced engine and gearbox bearings are installed, which are perfect for all tuned engines and are more durable compared to the standard bearings.
In addition, there are the matching thinner drive shafts, which are absolutely necessary for this conversion, which are made of one piece of high-strength steel and are solid shafts. They are therefore also suitable for performance-enhanced engines, which means you avoid the common problem of the drive shaft touching the body when the vehicle is lowered. Installing the thinner drive shaft saves you time and nerves.

This conversion kit contains all parts that we recommend for a conversion on models VW Golf MK1, Scirocco and Caddy 1  to the 02A / 02J 5-speed gearbox, combined with the VR6 engine from the VW Golf MK3.

This is the perfect all-in-one solution for your conversion.

Can also be used with adaptations for R32!

  • In which position should I press in the bearings?
  • The position is always different due to the tolerances on the bodies. The best approach is as follows:


    -Install engine and transmission mounts (without bearings).

    -Hang the engine and transmission in the vehicle so that everything fits perfectly.

    -Mark the position where the bearings should be pressed in.

    -Press in the bearings.


    Because the bearings are eccentric, you can perfectly align the engine and transmission.

  • Do your engine and transmission mounts fit both left-hand drive and right-hand drive vehicles?
  • Yes – in most cases, our engine and gearbox mounts fit both left-hand and right-hand drive vehicles equally well. The reason is simple: engine and gearbox are installed in the same position in most vehicles – regardless of whether the car is configured as left-hand drive or right-hand drive. This is exactly what our mounts are designed and intended for.

    For you, this means: You can usually use the mounts without additional modifications, and installation proceeds as usual. Especially in conversions or replacement projects, this is a significant advantage because the relevant mounting points in the powertrain area usually remain identical.

    In individual cases, it may be advisable for right-hand drive vehicles, due to the immediate environment (e.g., due to vehicle-specific components or slightly different spatial conditions), to make a small adjustment. However, this is the exception – and if at all, it usually involves small, easily feasible adjustments, not extensive changes to the mount.
