Brake caliper adapter, front axle, for Golf MK4 series (wheel bearing housing with with shorter supporting joint holder) to convert to Cayenne ZR18 brake calipers, combined with the original Audi RS4 B5 brake discs.
Suitable for following vehicles with a shorter supporting joint holder:
- Audi A3 (8L)
- Audi TT (8N)
- VW Golf MK 4
- VW Bora
- VW Polo 6r WRC
- VW Beetle
- Seat Leon
Important!:
The adapter is only suitable for cast wishbones OE: 8N0 407 151 A.
These are installed as standard in the Golf 4 R32, Audi S3 8L, and Audi TT 8N 1.8T and the Quattro models. All other models of the Golf 4, Audi A3 series must be converted to this cast wishbone, otherwise no more steering is possible. The stabilizer OE: 1J0411305AF article no. APA100 must also be converted in vehicles that do not have the cast wishbone installed as standard.
We have the right wishbones in the matching accessories and can be ordered directly.
The problem with the wishbone only affects conversions to Z18 and Z17 calipers. With all other adapters that we still have, such as conversion to 4-piston Porsche Boxter, Audi TTRS or 6-piston Porsche Panamera brake calipers for the Golf 4 Audi A3 series, the adapters fit with all wishbones.
As the TTRS disc could touch the wishbone because of its high height, we have developed spacers of 5mm thickness, which are mounted under the brake disc. The discs are thus pushed outwards. In addition, the disc with the plate is perfectly centered on the axle stub. The spacers are naturally contained in the delivery.
Important: These can only be used if the wheel bearing housing is installed with a shorter ball joint mount. This must be checked on the vehicle before installation, otherwise the brake disc will come into contact with the ball joint.

In addition, the supplied 3mm bushings must be mounted under the brake caliper adapter, since the thinner spacer disc means that the brake caliper has to move 3mm further to the engine side.

Tips, information and advice:
- To improve ventilation of the brake system, we recommend removing the anchor plates/brake dust plates.

- We cannot give you a generalised answer as to which rim size you can ride after your brake conversion. There are simply too many different wheel rims. For this reason, we have developed a template with which you can easily check whether the brake system kit fits under your rim. We have included a link to the template in the description. - Install the adapter with the required components and then check whether new brake lines are required, as the old ones may not be long enough or the connection may not fit, depending on the model. Due to the significantly better efficiency, we recommend switching to steel braided lines. - The handbrake cable must always be used from the installed calliper, which means that the new handbrake cable may have to be adjusted slightly. For conversions in which the original calliper is still used and the original handbrake cable can be used, you may have to route it more directly to compensate for the larger disc diameter and longer travel

No, unfortunately that is not possible. The reason is simply: all brake calipers have different heights and depths. If another brake disc is installed, the brake caliper would either not fit on the adapter or not run in the middle of the brake disc.
