Thin drive shaft for many VW Golf 4, Bora 1.8T V5 and Audi A3 models with 108 mm flange. Absolutely essential if you want to lower your vehicle extremely! The shafts are 28mm thick, are made from one piece of high-strength steel and are solid shafts, making them suitable for higher performance engines.

With our significantly thinner and extremely stable drive shaft, you can avoid the common problem of the drive shaft touching the body when the vehicle is lowered.

It is important that no excess pressure is created in the sleeve when installing the new drive shaft. You can see how to prevent this in our installation instructions (click here)

Installing the thinner drive shaft saves you having to rework the body. This saves you time and nerves.

Important!! Our short and thin drive shaft is only suitable if the dimension from the centre of the wheel to the original mudguard edge is 32cm

This is how you measure the distance from the edge of the mudguard to the centre of the wheel:

  • 1x thin drive shaft for VW Golf 4, Bora 1.8T V5, Audi A3 8L with 108 mm flange

Our drive shafts are registration-free and therefore do not need to be registered.

  • What exactly is the point of having a shorter driveshaft?
  • As a result of lowering, the axle geometry changes and the shaft presses against the wheel bearing, exposing it to high levels of wear and, in the worst case, destroying it. It is therefore imperative to depressurize the component. This is done by shortening the trees.

  • Do reinforced driveshafts also have reinforced ball joints ?
  • The wheel-side ball joints are also reinforced, but the inner ball joints are like the standard ball joints.

  • Why are two bags of grease included in the delivery?
  • The grease is included in the scope of delivery so that it can be regreased or if the gearbox flange is open at the rear. In this case, grease must still be applied there. If the shaft is supplied completely closed, no grease is required, as this has already been done. 

  • Why are no shims (OE: 1K0407357D) for the mounting supplied as they are original?
  • We do not supply the shims, as we install the latest version of the bellows. With these, the shims are no longer required.
