- Welche Felgengröße du nach deinem Bremsenumbau fahren kannst, können wir pauschal nicht beantworten. Es gibt einfach zu viele unterschiedliche Felgen. Es kann in seltenen Fällen vorkommen, dass die Felgen am Bremssattel minimal anliegt, dann können einfach Spurverbreiterungen verwendet werden.

Bei Umbauten in dem der Original Sattel weiterverwendet wird und das Original Handbremsseil verwendet werden kann, kann es sein, dass du es auf direkterem Weg verlegen musst um den größeren Scheibendurchmesser und den Längeren weg auszugleichen

- Are the Epytec brake calipers in the blank version primed or completely untreated?
Our Epytec brake calipers in the "Bare / Uncoated" version are completely untreated – meaning not primed and deliberately uncoated. You really get them "raw," so you can have them painted or coated exactly to your liking.
Note on Preparation (for a Clean Result)
To ensure the coating lasts in the long term, we recommend the following before painting/coating:
Thoroughly degrease the brake calipers (very important)
Lightly sand the surface (for better adhesion)
Use only heat-resistant brake caliper paint or a suitable coating
Use a primer only if specifically recommended by the paint/coating manufacturer
This way, you'll end up with a visually clean and durable surface – just the way you want it.
Can Epytec also paint brake calipers provided by customers?
No, we do not offer that.
We paint exclusively our own brake calipers and do not undertake painting work on customer-owned parts.
The reason for this is primarily due to our capacities and internal processes.
To ensure consistently high quality, we focus exclusively on our own products in this area.
If you wish to have your own brake calipers painted, we recommend that you contact a specialized paint shop in your area.
- Which RAL colors can we not offer for the coating of our brake calipers?
We can paint your brake calipers in almost all common RAL colors. However, an exception is RAL fluorescent colors (neon/fluorescent colors) – we cannot offer these for brake caliper painting.
The reason: fluorescent colors work technically different from normal RAL colors (they require special pigments/layer structures) and are significantly more sensitive in the "brake" application area. For a consistently clean, robust surface, we therefore rely on paint structures that have proven themselves in the brake area – and fluorescent RAL is excluded here.

- What torque should be used to tighten the sealing nipples on the brake caliper?
We recommend tightening the sealing nipples on the brake caliper with 20 Nm.

The correct torque ensures a secure seal. A too loose fit can lead to leaks, whereas over-tightening can damage threads or components.
Should a torque wrench be used?
Yes, for precise and safe installation, we recommend using a torque wrench.
Should anything be checked after installation?
Yes, the sealing nipple should be checked for tight fit and sealing afterward.
