Why can't I properly center my wheel after converting to this brake caliper adapter?

Depending on the rim, it may occur that after conversion to this brake caliper adapter or this brake system, the rim centering is relatively short because spacers for this adapter kit are used under the brake disc.In general, the rim is centered by the lug nut, the wheel bolts, and the existing cone. The rim centering on the hub merely serves as an assembly aid.If you still want to have that, we have rim centering extensions in our range, for example, this article (click here).Please check the measurement in advance to see if the extension fits you. (We manufacture the extension with a diameter of 51.25mm that is pressed into the hub)Alternatively, we can also custom-make ones.

Which brake pads should be used?

The original brake pads from the brake caliper, which is required for our conversion kit, must always be used.

My brake caliper is not exactly centered over the brake disc - what should I do?

If your brake caliper is not exactly centered over the brake disc, in most cases it is not a problem. Depending on the vehicle, model year, and mileage, axle tolerances can occur – and this even in newer vehicles.The most important thing is:👉 The brake caliper must have sufficient clearance on the left and right to the brake disc so that nothing rubs or permanently touches it.Many brake calipers also have locking bolts. It may happen that:there is very little clearance on one side or the bolt lightly toucheswhile on the other side there is more playThis is generally not critical.🔧 This is how you proceed:Install brake pads:First check if the brake pads can be inserted cleanly and without resistance on both sides.If everything fits:If installation is possible without problems, you can simply gently push back the locking bolts – this usually resolves the issue.If it jams:If the brake pads cannot be installed, or only with difficulty, on one side, action is required.In this case, you can:slightly shim the adapter with suitable bushings to adjust the brake caliperor – depending on the situation – slightly mill the adapter so that the brake caliper is correctly centered again👉 The goal is always that the brake caliper is evenly aligned with the brake disc and the brake pads are seated freely and cleanly.

Brake caliper adapter for the front axle on the Audi S4 B5, Audi A6, VW Passat, etc. to the Porsche Panamera 6 piston Brembo brake calipers in conjunction with the brake discs 360x36mm from the Mercedes CLS 500 Coupe.

Suitable for the following vehicles with steel axle stub OE 4B3407258A:

We provide a TÜV certificate with this adapter. This means that the TÜV inspector can easily register the adapter.

Tips, information and advice:

To improve ventilation of the brake system, we recommend removing the anchor plates/brake dust plates.

We cannot give you a generalised answer as to which rim size you can ride after your brake conversion. There are simply too many different wheel rims. For this reason, we have developed a template with which you can easily check whether the brake system kit fits under your rim. We have included a link to the template in the description. Install the adapter with the required components and then check whether new brake lines are required, as the old ones may not be long enough or the connection may not fit, depending on the model. Due to the significantly better efficiency, we recommend switching to steel braided lines. The handbrake cable must always be used from the installed calliper, which means that the new handbrake cable may have to be adjusted slightly. For conversions in which the original calliper is still used and the original handbrake cable can be used, you may have to route it more directly to compensate for the larger disc diameter and longer travel
