Below in the matching accessories you will find the required Sachs Performance clutch pressure plate.
Furthermore, you will find the matching organic clutch discs. It is important to check if you want to use the 228mm or 240mm clutch. Both are possible.
If you have installed the M54 engine, you must install the LUK clutch kit 624 3158 00 (pressure plate with automatic adjuster) in conjunction with this flywheel!

Further information:
To be able to drive a torsion-sprung clutch disc must be installed from the E28 M5.
Here it must be ensured that the spring basket is installed in the direction of the flywheel and not in the direction of the gearbox.
Screws for mounting can be used from the M40 engine.
Our Epytec flywheel is only suitable with the M52 Sachs Performance pressure plate.

Fünf Sterne, weil es kaum bis keine Hersteller auf dem Markt gibt, die diese Schwungscheibe in der guten Qualität, in diesem Preissegment anbieten, zumal diese auch mit der Serienkupplung gefahren werden kann & ich genau nach solch einer gesucht hatte. Ich bin froh, das ich diese im Internet bei EPYTEC gefunden habe. Empfehlenswert ist die Schwungscheibe für jegliche Art von Motorsport, von 1/4 Meile bis hin zum Driften, da der Motor durch das geringere Gewicht schneller hochdreht, als mit der Serienscheibe. Aber auch im Alltagsgebrauch ist die Schwungscheibe ein echter Gewinn, für jede/n, der/die es etwas sportlicher mag. Für alle Autoenthusiasten ist sie sehr zu empfehlen & zaubert das ein oder andere mal beim beschleunigen ein Grinsen ins Gesicht. Sehr gut verarbeitet. Schrauben mit dabei, auch für Kupplungskorb. Eingebaut bei meinem e46 323i mit neuer Luk Kupplung. War zuerst noch etwas skeptisch was den Leerlauf und das Anfahren angeht. Tatsächlich sehr überrascht gewesen, Anfahren eigentlich genau wie mit dem schweren ZMS und der Leerlauf immernoch super sauber und ruhig. Es ist etwas lauter im Innenraum, kann aber auch an der Verbindung mit den härteren Motor- und Getriebelager liegen. Macht sehr Spaß beim schalten, Motor dreht merkbar schneller auf und ab. Sportliches fahren macht richtig Bock und man kann die Gänge schnell durchschalten und die Motordrehzahl passt jetzt direkt für den nächsten Gang. Auch angenehm, das Schleppmoment beim Runterschalten ist spürbar kleiner für die Leute die kein Hacke-Spitze fahren können. Gutes Ding, Einbau selber gemacht ca 6h mit 2 Leuten
- Which screws can be used?
The original bolts can be reinstalled.
- Which clutch can be used with the Epytec flywheels?
You can continue to use the original clutch or an identical Sport / Performance clutch. Please check with the clutch manufacturer whether these are of the same design as the originals. If this is the case, then it will also fit 100%
- What is the friction coefficient of the flywheel?
In principle, the friction coefficient can be assumed to be at least the same as that of the original cast disc. Due to the higher alloyed steel, our pulleys are slightly better than the original cast pulley. Of course, the material of the friction disk also has a major influence here; this must be checked with the manufacturer of the friction disk
- What material are the flywheels made of?
The flywheel is made of 16MnCr (chromium molybdenum) steel, which means it has a density of 7.76 kg/dm³
- Does the flywheel have a TDC marking and other markings for the ignition?
The flywheel has no TDC marking, only the pin on the back, just like the original flywheel. Tip: To adopt the TDC marking, the original flywheel must be turned to the TDC point before disassembly and the new flywheel must be marked in exactly this position.
- Does the flywheel have the default unbalance or is it balanced to zero?
The flywheel is supplied with the default unbalance. Unbalance can be created as follows! We first balance the pulley to 0, then apply a test mass at the specified point, which corresponds exactly to the unbalance. The pulley is then balanced to 0 again with the test mass. If you now remove the test mass, you have exactly the specified unbalance.
- Do we only sell the ring gear / gearwheel of the flywheels?
No, we can only sell the flywheels complete.
- Why do I have to run in my clutch?
The principle of a clutch is similar to that of a brake system. The different materials / surfaces must first adapt to each other. This happens through friction. With standard clutches or organic linings, this happens relatively quickly, as the lining material is "softer" than with sintered metal linings.
