Installation instructions article for article 425 VW Golf 5 6 Audi A3 TT Audi on the RS7 356x22mm brake disc with the Porsche Cayenne callipers and the VW Golf 5 R handbrake calliper
Here you can find out how to install the RS7 356x22mm brake discs with the Porsche Cayenne brake system on your VW Golf 5 VW Golf 6 (complete series) with steel axle step by step.
Disassembly:
- Old brake system (brake disc, brake caliper and brake caliper carrier)
- Remove or machine the air baffle or the brake baffle or the armature plate (we prefer the removal, as the ventilation of the brake is better ensured).
!!Important!!:
What do you need?
- Depending on technical knowledge, approx. 1-2 hours time
- Torque spanner with suitable attachments
- Use liquid threadlocker / Loctite to secure the screws.
- Rear brake callipers from Porsche Cayenne partnumber: 955.352.421 + 955.352.422 Brembo left: 20.7673.03 right: 20.7673.04
- rear brake callipers with carrier for handbrake from Golf 5 R partnumbers: 1x Bremssattel left 1K0 615 423G, 1xbrake caliper right 1K0 615 424G, 2x brake caliper carrier 1K0 615 426
- Audi RS7 brake disc 356x22 mm partnumber: 4G8615601 4G8615601E
- No pressure loss when brakes are applied, noticeably precise pressure point
- No swelling as with rubber lines
- Cost savings, as steel braided lines have an almost unlimited service life and do not have to be replaced every 3-5 years.
- Shorter braking distance
- Protection against martens
- Optics
Now you can mount the rim again. When you mount the rim, make sure that the brake caliper does not rub against the rim. If this is the case, you can counteract this with wheel spacers if necessary, so that the rim has enough distance to the brake calliper. Click here to get to our wheel spacers (click here).
Now the conversion with the Porsche Cayenne and R32 handbrake calipers and RS7 356x22mm brake disc is almost complete.
Finally, the clearance of the new brake system has to be checked. To do this, turn the vehicle completely to the left and right and check that nothing is rubbing against anything or that nothing is touching anything, e.g. the suspension joint, wishbone, etc.
The whole procedure must be carried out with the suspension on and off.
If there is a collision at full steering angle, it may be possible to counteract it with steering angle limiters (click here for our steering angle limiters).
