BMW E36 Z3 brake upgrade to the BMW E38 4-piston Brembo calipers with the E46 M3 325x28mm brake discs
The customer's request/problems
Our customer Daniel would like to install the following brake system on his BMW E36 Z3 front axle
- Brake caliper: BMW E38 Brembo 4 piston part no. left: 34 11 1 163 757 right: 34 11 1 163 758
- Brake pad: BMW E38 Brembo 4 piston part no.:34 11 6 761 254
- Brake disc: BMW E46 M3 325x28 mm part no. left: 34 11 2 282 801 right: 34 11 2 282 802

Our conversion
Our customer Daniel sent us the following components:
- Front axle E36 Z3
- Brake caliper: BMW E38 Brembo 4 piston part no. left: 34 11 1 163 757 right: 34 11 1 163 758
- Brakepad: BMW E38 Brembo 4 piston part no.:34 11 6 761 254
- Then we plugged the components together once to determine the required tuning adapter for the brake conversion. Here we could see that we had to clarify whether there was any obstruction on the car side. Daniel told us that there was no obstruction , so we could continue with the development.
3-D Prototyping
The finished prototype is tested directly at our premises to see if it fits the front axle of the BMW E36 Z3.
We always work with a 3D-model in advance, because it always happens that certain dimensions and conditions cannot be taken into account in advance. With the 3D model, we can be sure that everything fits
Production
After Daniel's approval we machine the brake caliper tuning adapter for the BMW E36 Z3 with the E38 4-piston brake system and the E36 M3 325x28mm brake disc.
Afterwards, we send the tuning adapter to the surface refiner, and as soon as it has arrived back at our premises, it is sent directly to Daniel.
