Audi 80 / 90 (89, 89Q, B3) tuning conversion to the A6 302x12mm brake disc with the original rear calipers
The customer's request / problem:
Our customer Darius would like to install the following components on the rear axle of his Audi 80 / 90 (89,89Q,B3):
- Brake disc A6 All-wheel drive 302x12mm part no.: 4F0 615 601 E
- Original caliper rear (will be kept on the car) part no.: 853 615 423 A VAG
Our realisation / solution:
- Our customer Darius ordered via our brake caliper configurator. Here you can find out how to get your custom-made caliper step by step
- Based on the entered dimensions, a prototype is created with our 3D printer. This saves Darius the money for a CAD drawing.
3-D Prototyping
The final prototype is sent to Darius in advance so that it can be tested to see if everything fits perfectly and if the brake system fits on the Audi 80 / 90. Darius told us that 1-2 small changes have to be made to the tuning adapter so that everything fits 100%.
"Hello, as just discussed on the phone, here is the mail, the sample arrived today and fits well, but a small adjustment would have to be made. Attached is a picture of the pattern where I have marked the edge in the radius with a black felt pen, because I am sanding with the radius on the ABS ring. Either make a generous chamfer or enlarge the radius a little. But everything fits very well in terms of dimensions. I don't think I need another sample, but you can make the adapters directly with a bevel or a slightly larger radius."
We always work with a 3D model in advance, because it always happens that certain dimensions and conditions cannot be taken on the tuning adapter in advance. With the 3D model, we can be sure that everything fits.
