Alfa Romeo Alfasud Sprint Group H conversion to the 4-piston AP Racing CP8350 caliper with the Tarox C83 304x25,4mm disc brake.
The customer's request / problem:
Our customer Alfred would like to install the following brake system with these components on his Alfa Romeo Alfasud Sprint Group H front axle:
- Tarox C83 brake disc 304x25,4mm (floating friction rings, with aluminium pots)
- 4-piston brake caliper AP Racing CP8350
Due to the fact that the brake, which is fitted as standard to the inside of the gearbox (front-wheel drive, engine and gearbox mounted longitudinally), steers to the wheel, the standard wishbones are replaced by adjustable tubular wishbones made of chrome-molybdenum with uniball joints. In addition, the wheel hubs and drive shafts from the Alfa Romeo 33 must be used.
The rims planned are three-piece NTM F308 in 8x15 for the slicks and one-piece ATS DTC in 8x15 for the rain tyres.

- Based on the entered measurements, a prototype is created with our 3D printer. This saves Alfred the money for a CAD drawing.
3-D Prototyping
The final prototype is sent to Alfred to be tested if everything fits perfectly and if the brake system fits to the Alfa Romeo Alfasud Sprint Group H. Alfred told us that 1-2 small changes have to be made to the tuning adapter so that everything fits 100%.
"Hello, I received the 3D test model for my brake caliper adapter and tried it. Three things prevented correct installation:
1.the through holes G1 were only 10 mm. I had to drill them out to 12.2 mm. (photos)
2. the G2 threads were slightly too large on the test model. M10x1.25 is needed here!!!
3. the brake pads have contact with the adapter at the points marked in the photo. A small incision is needed here, a depth of 2 mm would suffice. (photo).
Everything else should fit. Thank you for sending me the test model. Now I know its importance."
We always work with a 3D model in advance, as it often happens that certain dimensions and conditions cannot be taken on the tuning adapter in advance. With the 3D model, we can be sure that everything fits.
Production
After Alfred's approval, we machine the tuning adapter for the Alfa Romeo Alfasud to a perfect fit. Afterwards, it is taken to the surface refiner.
