Installation instructions for article 817 Tuning brake caliper adapter VW Scirocco Passat Audi Q3 to the Wave Audi RS7 356x22 brake disc with Porsche Cayenne calipers

Here you will learn how to proceed step by step to convert your VW Passat, Eos, Audi Q3 or Audi TT to the Porsche Cayenne and the VW Scirocco R brake calipers as handbrake in combination with the original Audi RS7 Wave brake discs.

Dismantling:

  • Old brake system (brake disc, brake caliper and brake caliper carrier).
  •  Remove or process the air baffle or brake baffle or anchor plate (we prefer the removal, as the ventilation of the brake is better ensured).

!!Important!!:

Make sure that there are no rust or paint residues on the bolt-on points of the steering knuckle or wheel hub. If this is the case, please clean them. Then check the threads of the steering knuckle for damage.

What do you need?

  • Depending on your technical knowledge, about 1-2 hours of time
  • Torque spanner with suitable attachments  n
  • Liquid threadlocker

The first step is to mount the Epytec tuning adapters on the rear axle of the VW Passat. The adapters fit the complete VW Passat series such as Audi Q, TT, TT Roadster, VW Scirocco, EOS etc. with the installed aluminium axle, part number: OE 3C0505435F.

After that, the wheel hub can be put back on the axle of the VW Passat.

For a better view, here are the mounted adapters with brake calipers and without mounted brake disc. Before you mount the brake disc, you must remove the 2 brake callipers, otherwise this is not possible.

Tipp:

For easier installation, the adapter for the handbrake caliper can be completely loosened again on one side, so that it can be pulled out slightly and the handbrake caliper from the VW Scirocco can be attached without any problems. If the handbrake caliper is screwed on tightly, the adapters can be screwed on completely.

You can then fit the Audi RS Wave 356x22mm brake disc(part number: 4G0.615.601E ).

When the Audi RS 7 Wave brake disc is fitted, you can reconnect the brake lines and bleed the brake completely.

Now you can mount the rim again.

When fitting the rim, make sure that the brake calliper does not rub against the rim. If this is the case, you can counteract this with wheel spacers, so that the rim has enough distance to the brake caliper. Click here to get to ou wheel spacers (click here).

So the conversion with the Porsche Cayenne brake calipers and the VW Golf 4 R32 handbrake system and matching Audi RS7 356x22mm brake disc is almost complete.

Finally, the clearance of the new brake system must be checked. To do this, turn the vehicle completely to the left and right and check that nothing is rubbing against anything or that nothing is touching anything, e.g. the suspension joint, transverse link, etc.

The whole procedure must be carried out with the suspension on and off.

If there is a collision at full steering angle, it may be possible to counteract it with steering angle limiters (click here for our steering angle limiters).
