Simple and super-fast 1.8T engine conversion for Golf 1 Scirocco and Caddy 14d with our engine mount.
The engine mount is suitable for all 1.8T 20V engines and 1.9 TDI from the VW Golf 4 Audi series with the following engine code:
- 1.8l 20vT 110-221 kW
- 1.9 TDI that were installed in the 4 Series Golf.
The engine mount is designed so that the original Golf 1 rubber mount with a diameter of 74mm can be installed. We also have reinforced bearings in our shop.

- It is the best option regarding reviews - I like the way it fits like a stock mk1 mount - To all that is doing 1.8t swaps :-) - I like it as it is. But if there is, I would leave it up to the engineering team - According to all the research I did regarding 1.8t swaps, Epytec was top of the list - Kind of yes. But it was because of where I am located :-( - THE BEST!!! IT LOOKS SO STOCK

Hello, I'd like to point out that the products are great, but what caught my eye was that the welds on the back were grinded after the zink plating, and not before, so there will be rust in time, but that's purely cosmetic and not visible. Also I'd prefer any logos and lettering press stamped or laser engraved instead of weakening any structural areas. Thank you for your work.

- In which position should I press in the bearings?
The position is always different due to the tolerances on the bodies. The best approach is as follows:
-Install engine and transmission mounts (without bearings).
-Hang the engine and transmission in the vehicle so that everything fits perfectly.
-Mark the position where the bearings should be pressed in.
-Press in the bearings.
Because the bearings are eccentric, you can perfectly align the engine and transmission.
- Do your engine and transmission mounts fit both left-hand drive and right-hand drive vehicles?
Yes – in most cases, our engine and gearbox mounts fit both left-hand and right-hand drive vehicles equally well. The reason is simple: engine and gearbox are installed in the same position in most vehicles – regardless of whether the car is configured as left-hand drive or right-hand drive. This is exactly what our mounts are designed and intended for.
For you, this means: You can usually use the mounts without additional modifications, and installation proceeds as usual. Especially in conversions or replacement projects, this is a significant advantage because the relevant mounting points in the powertrain area usually remain identical.
In individual cases, it may be advisable for right-hand drive vehicles, due to the immediate environment (e.g., due to vehicle-specific components or slightly different spatial conditions), to make a small adjustment. However, this is the exception – and if at all, it usually involves small, easily feasible adjustments, not extensive changes to the mount.
