Rear transmission / gear bracket / bearing block: it replaces the original part number 171 399 141 A and the number 171 399 141.
In the Golf 1 and similar vehicles, such as the Scirocco Caddy 14d and Jetta, there were two different bearing blocks, depending on the engine, which are screwed directly onto the body. It is now difficult or impossible to purchase these!
We have therefore developed a bearing block that replaces both versions. It is particularly important to have flexibility with various engine and gearbox conversions, as sometimes the gearbox is better positioned further backward and sometimes better further forward.
With our EPYTEC bearing block you are flexible in your choice and can use both versions.
Thanks to the axial rubber bearing and the height-adjustable U-socket, we achieve perfect performance. The engine tilts less over and the body is still ideally protected.
Suitable for all conversions in the Golf MK1, Scirocco, Jetta and Caddy 14d.
Our EPYTEC bearing block can be used for original conversions as well as for the conversion to a G60, 1.8T or VR6 engine in the Golf 1, Caddy 14d, Scirroco 1 and Jetta in conjunction with 5-speed gearboxes 02J 02A CDA, 6-speed gearboxes 02m 02Q and the DQ250 gearbox.

- For which original bearing block is the Epytec holder designed?
The Epytec bracket is for the original bracket with the part number 171399141A from the small to the 1.6L engine. If the original bracket with the part number 171399141 is installed in your vehicle, it must be replaced with the upper bracket ending in A.
- Do your engine and transmission mounts fit both left-hand drive and right-hand drive vehicles?
Yes – in most cases, our engine and gearbox mounts fit both left-hand and right-hand drive vehicles equally well. The reason is simple: engine and gearbox are installed in the same position in most vehicles – regardless of whether the car is configured as left-hand drive or right-hand drive. This is exactly what our mounts are designed and intended for.
For you, this means: You can usually use the mounts without additional modifications, and installation proceeds as usual. Especially in conversions or replacement projects, this is a significant advantage because the relevant mounting points in the powertrain area usually remain identical.
In individual cases, it may be advisable for right-hand drive vehicles, due to the immediate environment (e.g., due to vehicle-specific components or slightly different spatial conditions), to make a small adjustment. However, this is the exception – and if at all, it usually involves small, easily feasible adjustments, not extensive changes to the mount.
