Oil pan adapter kit for the VW T3 Bus – conversion to modern VW engines
Engine and transmission conversion for your VW T3 Bus to modern VW engines such as the 1.9 TDI PD, 2.0 TDI common rail or 1.8T 20V turbo. This oil pan adapter kit allows you to use the original 50-degree oil pan from the VW JX diesel engine even with newer, more powerful engines.
With the adapter included in the set between the oil pump and oil pickup tube, you position the oil pickup precisely at the lowest point of the oil pan. This ensures reliable lubrication at all times, even with a modified engine position – ideal for dependable performance in conversions.
The two-piece steel oil pan adapter fits precisely and securely between the engine block and oil pan. Perfectly matched for your conversion to modern power units in the VW T3 Bus.

Note: The following additional parts are required for the conversion (not included in the scope of delivery):
- Original VW T3/T25 Vanagon JX diesel oil pan
- Oil pickup tube from VW Passat or Audi A4
- O-ring seal for the oil pickup tube

- Do your engine and transmission mounts fit both left-hand drive and right-hand drive vehicles?
Yes – in most cases, our engine and gearbox mounts fit both left-hand and right-hand drive vehicles equally well. The reason is simple: engine and gearbox are installed in the same position in most vehicles – regardless of whether the car is configured as left-hand drive or right-hand drive. This is exactly what our mounts are designed and intended for.
For you, this means: You can usually use the mounts without additional modifications, and installation proceeds as usual. Especially in conversions or replacement projects, this is a significant advantage because the relevant mounting points in the powertrain area usually remain identical.
In individual cases, it may be advisable for right-hand drive vehicles, due to the immediate environment (e.g., due to vehicle-specific components or slightly different spatial conditions), to make a small adjustment. However, this is the exception – and if at all, it usually involves small, easily feasible adjustments, not extensive changes to the mount.
