VW T5 Bus conversion to Porsche Panamera 970 brake calipers with 345x24 brake discs
The customer's request / problem:
Our customer Michael would like to install the following brake system with these components on his VW T5 Bus California rear axle:
- BMW brake disc 345x24, part no.: 34 21 6 775 342, 34 21 6 790 966, 34 35 6 791 961, 3421 6 775 289, 34216775289, 34216775342, 34216790966, 34356791961
- Porsche Panamera 970 rear brake caliper , part no.: 298615150E / 298615150A / 97035242423 / 970.352.424.23
Our realisation / solution:
Our customer Michael sent us the following components:
- Porsche Panamera 970 rear brake caliper ( 298615150E / 298615150A / 97035242423 / 970.352.424.23)
- 1x BMW brake disc 345x24 (34 21 6 775 342, 34 21 6 790 966, 34 35 6 791 961, 3421 6 775 289, 34216775289, 34216775342, 34216790966, 34356791961)
- As we have the rear steering knuckle from the VW T5 bus, Michael didn't have to send it.
- So we assembled the components once to determine the required tuning adapter for the brake conversion.
Measurement / drawing:
After Michael sent us all the components, we assembled the components once to measure the required tuning adapter for the brake system for conversion to the Porsche Panamera brake calipers on the VW T5 bus.
3-D Prototyping
The final prototype is tested directly in our workshop to see if it is compatible with the Porsche Panamera brake system on the VW T5 bus.
We always work with a 3D model in advance, because it happens again and again that certain dimensions and conditions cannot be taken on the tuning adapter in advance. With the 3D model, we can be sure that everything fits.
Production
After we have tested the 3D model in our workshop, we now machine the brake tuning adapter for the VW T5 Bus California to a precise fit. Afterwards, it is transported to the surface refiner.
Installation and test
The tuning adapter has now arrived from the surface refiner, we were able to test fit everything and deliver a great brake system to Michael.
