The customer's request / problem:
Our customer Björn has the problem that on his 1.9TDI engine the cast iron bracket behind the V-belt tends to crack. Until now, the only way to repair this was to remove the engine completely from the car.
With the help of our new repair plate (click here), it is no longer necessary to remove the complete engine from the car.
Our realisation / solution:
Björn has sent us a sketch and a pattern how the optimal solution for the problem with the cracking of the cast-iron bracket behind the V-belt is.

Measurement / Drawing
With the hand sketch and the pattern, we can transfer the repair plate directly into our CAD program without any problems.
3-D Prototyping
The final prototype is sent to Björn in advance so that we can test whether everything fits perfectly and the repair panel fits the 1.9TDI and 2.0TDI engines.
Björn told us that 1-2 small changes have to be made to the repair panel so that everything fits 100%.
We always work with a 3D model in advance, because it always happens that certain dimensions and conditions cannot be taken on the repair panel in advance. With the 3D model, we can be sure that everything fits
Production
After Björn's approval, we now mill the repair panel for the 1.9TDI and 2.0TDI engines to fit exactly. It is then taken to the surface refiner and galvanised blue.
The repair plate has arrived back at us from the surface refiner and could then be sent directly to Björn.
