Installation instructions article 1110: Adapter for AMG GT Coupé (year 2019) - conversion to 390 mm AMG brake disc with 6-piston brake calliper
These installation instructions show you how to perfectly convert your AMG GT Coupé (from 2017, type 1414 AAL) to the 390 mm brake discs of the AMG GTS/GTC/GTR.
Thanks to its increased cooling effect, higher thermal load capacity and improved braking performance, the optimum solution provides you with decisive advantages for sporty driving. At the same time, the system remains cost-efficient: original parts (> €700) and the ability to retrofit enable reversal at any time.
Required components:
- Mercedes C 63 AMG (W205) 6-piston brake calipers Parts No. A2044219998 / A204 421 97 98 (Brembo: 20828205 / 20828206)
- Brake disc from Mercedes CLS 63 from the front axle in 390x36mm part number: A2304211212
- Brake disc from Mercedes AMG C63 S (S205) from the front axle in 390x36mm part number: A2314211812

2. Tools & materials
For the conversion you need:
- 19 mm socket for brake calliper bolts
- 16 mm drill bit (only when adapting the wear system)
- Torque spanner, set to 110 Nm (wheel bearing bolt) and 270 Nm (M16 brake calliper bolt) in accordance with MB specifications
- Medium-strength threadlocker to secure the screw connections
- Safety goggles and work gloves (observe safety tips)
- EPYTEC adapter set 1110
3. Step-by-step instructions
First jack up the vehicle safely, release the handbrake and remove the wheel. Wear safety goggles! (Picture with the original 360 brake disc)

Now loosen the brake calliper bolts with the 19 mm socket and carefully lay the brake calliper down - do not just leave it hanging on the brake hose to prevent deformation and pulling. In our experience, it helps to place the caliper immediately on a protected surface
Then clean the flat contact surfaces on the brake calliper and wheel hub flange - avoid deposits so that the adapters fit precisely.
Now position the EPYTEC adapters between the wheel hub and the brake calliper. Pay attention to the alignment: The directional side with the EPYTEC lettering must be mounted parallel to the brake disc to ensure unrestricted rotation later on. Tighten the screws only lightly at first to check that the disc can move freely.
Next, place the brake disc (390 x 36 mm, e.g. part no. 09.9313.33 from Brembo) on the wheel hub and screw tight. Then fit the caliper with the longer bolts included in the set. Make sure that it is parallel to the disc - you will notice whether something is rubbing or the disc is spinning when you tighten it lightly at the latest. If everything runs smoothly, tighten the bolts to the torque specified by MB and apply medium-strength threadlocker beforehand.

Now fit the brake pads, pump the brake pedal several times until the pads lie flat against the disc. Finally, fit the wheel and check the clearance with the tyres fitted.

4. Sources of error & Troubleshooting
If grinding noises occur, first check whether the adapter surfaces are clean and correctly deburred. A countersink can help here. Lack of free movement usually indicates an incorrectly fitted adapter - the side with the lettering belongs to the inside of the wheel.
If the pedal feels loose while riding, immediately check the brake calliper bolts for correct tension and replace the Loctite if necessary.
If there is air in the system: Bleed completely, otherwise** there is a risk of loss of braking force**.

5. Safety & liability
Wear safety goggles when drilling! Manual assembly - never use an impact wrench.
Ensure correct torques to avoid cracking and material deformation in the aluminium components.
Disclaimer: TÜV approval is mandatory after conversion. Follow all instructions on the TÜV procedure and, if necessary, re-measure the axle load range.
6. FAQ for the installation instructions
Question 1: Is wheel alignment necessary after the conversion?
Answer: Yes, if the wheel hub or track components have been loosened. An axle geometry check ensures driving behaviour and prevents uneven tyre wear.
Question 2: Do I have to adjust the wear indicator?
Answer: The AMG GT does not have a wear indicator for the front axle, so there is no need to bend the bracket. If there is one, bend it to a distance of +8 mm from the adapter - work gently with pipe wrenches so that the cable is not kinked.
