VW Passat B8 4-Motion on Porsche Cayenne brake caliper in connection with the handbrake caliper from the Tesla Model X90D L2S

VW Passat B8 4-Motion brake upgrade to Porsche Cayenne brake caliper in combination with Tesla Model X90D (L2S) handbrake caliper in combination with Audi A6 A7 356x22mm brake disc (131341)

The customer request / problem:

Our customer Benjamin would like to upgrade his brake system on his VW Passat B8 4-motion and install these components on his rear axle:

Our realisation / solution:

For the identical alloy axle (5Q0505435J) we already had the following conversion to the following components in our range:

Brake caliper from Porsche Cayenne from rear axle part no.:955.352.421 + 955.352.422 Brembo left: 20.7673.03 right: 20.7673.04
original brake caliper with carrier for handbrake from Golf 7R part no.: 5Q0615424 / 5Q0615424
original Audi A6 A7 brake disc 356x22 mm part no.: 4G8.615.601F
perforated Wave brake disc from Audi RS7 356x22 mm part no.: 4G8.615.601

So only one bracket needs to be adapted here, as the other components are identical and we can use our existing Tuning Caliper Adapter 1091 as a template.

Since we have the wheel bearing housing for the VW Golf 7R (identical in construction to the rear axle of the VW Passat B8 4-motion OE number: 5Q0505435J) here, Benjamin only had to send us the Audi A6 A7 356x22mm brake disc and the electric handbrake caliper from the Tesla Model X90 D (L2S OE number: 02125250D).

You will receive a matching material certificate for each custom-made product.

Measurement/Drawing

Our customer Benjamin sent us the missing components, whereupon we mount everything together once to develop the required brake caliper tuning adapter for the VW Passat B8 4-motion.

Since the 4-piston Porsche Cayenne brake calliper is also installed in the 1091 brake calliper tuning adapter, only the tuning brake calliper adapter on which the Tesla hand brake caliper is mounted needs to be adapted.

3-D prototyping

The finished prototype is tested in our workshop to see if everything fits perfectly and if there are any defects. We always work with a 3D model in advance, because it happens again and again that certain dimensions and conditions can not be considered in advance at the tuning adapter. Through the 3D model we can be sure that everything fits.

Fabrication

After Benjamin's approval, we now mill the brake tuning adapter for the VW Passat B8 4-motion (5Q0505435J) in connection with the electric Tesla Model X 90D (L2S) 2017 handbrake caliper (02125250D) to a precise fit.

This is then driven to the surface finisher.

Installation and Test

The brake tuning adapter has now arrived at the surface tuner and we were able to test fit everything and deliver an awesome brake system to our customer.
