Audi Urquattro Type 85 conversion to the Audi TTRS RS3 4-piston brake calipers with the Mercedes GLA 250 320x30mm brake disc
The customer's request / problem:
Our customer Florian would like to install the following components on the front axle of his Audi Urquattro Type 85:
- Audi TTRS RS3 4-piston brake calipers (8J0 615 107 / 8J0 615 108)
- Mercedes GLA 250 320x30mm brake disc (246 421 2712)
Our realisation / solution:
- Our customer Florian ordered via our brake caliper configurator. Here you can find out how to get your custom-made caliper step by step.
- Based on the entered dimensions, a prototype is created with our 3D printer. This saves Florian the money for a CAD drawing.
3-D Prototyping
The final prototype is sent to Florian in advance so that he can test whether everything fits perfectly and whether the brake system fits on the Audi Urquattro. Florian also told us that 1-2 small changes have to be made to the tuning adapter so that everything fits 100%.
We always work with a 3D model in advance, because it always happens that certain dimensions and conditions cannot be taken on the tuning adapter in advance. With the 3D model, we can be sure that everything fits.
Production
After Florian's approval, we now machine the brake tuning adapter for the Audi Urquattro to a precise fit. Then it's taken to the surface refiner.
Installation and test
The brake tuning adapter has returned to us from the surface refiner and was sent directly to Florian.
