Installation instructions for article No.721 for installing the CDA CTM DPA gearbox in the VW Golf 1, Scirocco and Caddy 14d
Here you will find out how to install the 16V gearbox CDA CTM DPA (originally installed in the Golf 3 series) in your VW Golf 1, Scirocco or Caddy 14D step by step.
This is how the Epytec Tuning Adapter is mounted on one side of the 16V gearbox from the VW Golf 3.
On the other side you have 2 screw connections on the CDA CTM DPA gearbox.
As you can see, the hole in the Epytec gearbox holder is much larger than the hole in the 16V gearbox. Therefore, the hole must be drilled to a diameter of 6.8mm and then an M8 thread cut into the gearbox. It is best to work with a thread cutter.
!!Important!!
Make sure that you cut the thread straight :)
If you have cut the M8 thread in the 16V gearbox (CTA, CTM, DPA). You can mount the Epytec Tuning Adapter on the VW Golf 3 gearbox. Then screw the gearbox mount to the bearing on the original engine mount ( or our modified engine mount ) and the installation of the 16V gearbox in the VW Golf 1 is complete.
