The customer's wish / problem:
Our customer Kevin would like to install the following engine and gearbox on his Audi 100 C1 Coupe:
- 1.8T AEB engine
- 5 speed FTW gearbox
- Engine mount on the left for welding to the chassis links
- Cross member / gearbox holder rear
- Engine mount right to be welded to the chassis
- Engine mount front toothed belt side
Our realisation / solution:
Kevin has provided us with the following wooden samples, which we should copy for him so that he can install the 5-speed FTW gearbox and the 1.8T AEB engine in his Audi 100 C1 Coupe.

Measurements by Epytec:
Based on the wood sample, we were able to transfer all the measurements into our CAD programme and create the technical drawings for the engine and transmission mounts.
3-D Prototyping
The final 3-D prototype is sent to Kevin in advance, so that we can test if everything fits perfectly and if the 5-speed FTW gearbox and the 1.8T AEB engine can be installed in his Audi 100 C1 Coupe.
Kevin also told us that 1-2 small changes have to be made to the tuning adapter so that everything fits 100%.
We always work with a 3D model in advance, because it always happens that certain dimensions and conditions cannot be taken on the tuning adapter in advance. With the 3D model, we can be sure that everything fits.
Production
After Kevin's approval, we produce the components for the engine and gearbox tuning adapter for the Audi 100 C1 Coupe. Afterwards, the individual assemblies are welded and then driven to the surface refiner.
