Opel GT Roadster yoc 2008 Brake system conversion on the front axle with the 4 piston Porsche Panamera brake calipers in combination with a 355x35 brake disc (134817)
The customer's request / problem:
Our customer Michael would like to install the following brake system with these components on his Opel GT Raodster yoc 2008 front axle:
- Brake disc: 355x35 mm floating mounted brake disc with aluminium pot from Opel Astra OPC part no.:10 481 060 / 09.B7781.13. The centring has been milled from 68 mm to 80 mm and a fitting piece has been pressed in to fit 65 mm.
- Brake caliper: 4-piston Porsche Panamera with 40 mm piston part no.: 970.352.423.23 /970.352.424.23
- Brake pads: Pagid T1785
When we asked him why he chose the 4-piston Porsche Panamera brake calipers, he replied: "because they are very narrow in construction...I need them because of the drop-centre rims. In addition, the brake caliper is a monobloc caliper...better in construction."
Our realisation / solution:
- Our customer Michael sent us the following sample to install the 4-piston Porsche Panamera brake system on the Opel GT Roadster.
- Based on this sample, we can create the drawing for Michael's tuning adapter.
3-D Prototyping
The final prototype is sent to Michael in advance so that it can be tested whether everything fits perfectly and the brake system fits on the Opel GT Roadster. Michael also told us that 1-2 small changes have to be made to the tuning adapter so that everything fits 100%.
We always work with a 3D model in advance, because it always happens that certain dimensions and conditions cannot be taken on the tuning adapter in advance. With the 3D model, we can be sure that everything fits.
Production
After Michael's approval, we mill the brake tuning adapter for the Opel GT Roadster to a precise fit. Afterwards, it is taken to the surface refiner.
Installation and Test
The brake tuning adapter arrived back from the surface refiner and was sent directly to Michael.
He mounted everything and sent us great installation pictures of his new brake tuning adapter - many thanks for that!
