Our idea/the problem:

We would like to be able to convert the engine and gearbox of your VW Golf 2, Corrado, Jetta and Vento without any problems.

Our intention was to create the perfect solution, no matter if you have a:

4 or 6 cylinder engine

with an

5 (02a, 02j) or 6 (02m) gearbox on a VW Golf 2, Corrado, Jetta or Vento

Our intentions were:

no time-consuming change of the axle
no tilting of the engine
perfect fit of engine and gearbox due to height adjustable brackets optimal centre of gravity
perfectly adapted to your needs
time saving for your conversion project
Stable enough for your horsepower

Our realisation:

During the realisation of this project we would like to thank our good friend Herve, who provided us with all components including the body :)

All the installation and development pictures you see here were taken at his workshop, where the VW Golf 2 was parked. Here you can see step by step how the development of the reinforced front carrier was done:

1. Reinforced cross member suitable for VW Golf 2, Corrado, Jetta and Vento

Starting situation:

First of all, we looked at the original part to see what could be improved and how the complete project could be implemented.

Then we simply rebuilt the part with a "rod" to get the right measurements and how the part should fit.

Drawing creation:

With this simple sample we were able to create the drawing like CAD.

Prototyping:

Here you can see our first two prototypes, which unfortunately were not 100% accurate, which is quite normal for such a project :)

After adjusting the prototypes we could test the complete set again

Installation and Test

in the next step we were able to test the motor mount as well, since the cross strut now fit :)

Production

After the prototyping was done, we could start with the final production of the reinforced cross brace for the VW Golf 2, Corrado, Jetta and Vento.

Of course we also tested this final so that we and you can be sure that everything is 100% accurate.

We were also able to test the matching engine and gearbox adapters at the same time, as the basic construction with the reinforced strut was finally in place.
