1979 Yamaha XS 650 SE motorbike tuning conversion in flat track style to the 320mm Brembo brake disc with the 4-piston brake caliper from ABM
The customer's request / problem:
Our customer Frank would like to install the following brake system on the front axle of his 1979 Yamaha XS 650 SE:
- 1979-yamaha-xs-650-se-motobike-tuning-conversion
- Brake disc Brembo, 320mm Ø part no.: 78B408A8
Our realisation / solution:
Our customer Frank sent us the following components:
- Yamaha XJR1200 front axle fork (standpipe diameter of 43mm, original fork 35mm), so 130mm front tyres could be realised
- Brake caliper from ABM, 4-piston ISAAC4
- Brake disc Brembo, 320mm Ø part no.: 78B408A8
- You will receive a matching material certificate for each custom-made product

3-D Prototyping
The final prototype is tested in our workshop to check that everything fits perfectly and that there are no defects.
We always work with a 3D-model in advance, because it always happens that certain dimensions and conditions cannot be taken on the Tuning Adapter in advance. With the 3D-model, we can be sure that everything fits.
Production
After Frank's approval, we mill the brake tuning adapter for the Yamaha XS 650 SE to a precise fit. It is then taken to the surface refiner.
Installation and Test
The brake tuning adapter arrived back from the surface tuner and was sent directly to Frank, including the front axle fork.
He mounted everything and sent us great installation pictures of his new brake tuning adapter - thanks a lot for that!
