The clutch release lever / fork / central slave cylinder of SACHS is the transmission link between the rotating clutch and the stationary clutch actuation system. He is responsible for the safe functioning of the clutch.
The setting of the diaphragm spring clutch is free of play, i.e. the releaser/slave cylinder always runs with the clutch as it rotates. A force generated by the actuation system ensures that the clutch and the thrust ring of the release bearing rotate at the same speed. Different speed differences lead to noise and increased wear.
The Sachs releasers/slave cylinders are increasingly being made of plastic so that weight can be saved.
